There's some Swedish school band LP cover that pre-dated Sgt. Pepper.

Certainly a co-inkdink.

Otherwise the guy would have sported Lennon shades and a denim jacket. Of course, at the time, those glasses were not yet iconic and were simply referred to as....oh, OK,...Lennon shades.

It appears like a big stretch to say the earlier cover is anything like Sgt. Pep. But it was fun to go look.

The Lennon cover does appear to be a coincidence. I suppose it's close enough that it might have been subconscious plagiarism if the designer of the Lennon artwork happened to have seen the other one. But not exactly a My Sweet Lord moment. ;)
