I didn't change tt to xx, did the forum do it automatically or did an admin change it later(in which case I'll get in the habit of changing it myself, as I'm sure I can find more stuff to post in this thread)?

The forum is doing this - which makes total sense, though I've seen places where it seems to miss and allows an h"tt"p thru...

It does it automatically for any link direct to file hosting sites.

On another site...we've been using the hxxp, for http for 5 or 6 years, for links...

It was a cut & paste for the URL...Keeps the Blue Meanies away

It works ok for me. Make sure you rightclick and copy the link. The forum shortens long links by shoving a '...' in the middle and if you copy and paste that it won't work.

EDIT:
I changed it to a code link so hopefully that's stop copy & paste errors.
