Has anyone tried movie syncs?

Post by moptophugger »

Supposedly, any album can sync to any movie. Anyone tried to do it? Some examples are Snow White with The White Album, Wizard Of Oz with Dark Side Of The Moon and McCartney 2 with The Muppets Movie.

Interesting, more details please. Do you mean sync music to specific scenes, or that a movie flows the same way the songs on these albums do, or replace the entire soundtrack, or-?

It's like an alternate soundtrack but the lyrics sync the film and sometimes the music does as well

Thanks but I still have no idea how this works, at least in some usable way.

I've never heard of the Snow White / White Album, and Muppets Movie / McCartney 2 link, but the Wizard of Oz / Dark Side has been discussed for a few years. You're supposed to play the DVD of the movie with sound 'off'', while simultaneously playing the Pink Floyd CD on your hifi, and the various edits and scene changes magically coincide with the album tracks throughout. I've never tried it myself!

Thanks C90! This is weird stuff.

So here is a video example of Wizard/Dark Side (the latter then obviously inspired by the former if this is true...):

Snow White/White Album (somebody spent way too much time on this...):

Muppets Movie/McCartney II:
