Not me, but my brother thought that in Dig A Pony, whenever they'd sing the prolonged "because", that they were singing "Beatles" (I guess he figured people needed to know who was singing the song).

I used to think John was singing, "Anna, just one more finger."

Because I was a particularly smutty ten year old at the time I knew what "finger" meant and so felt compelled to turn that song down really low when it came on in case my parents heard it.

Another good one was my mishearing of "Come and keep your comrade warm" in Back In The USSR.

For years as a child I wondered who Conrad was, and why he was not wearing anything warm.

Getting Closer

Great track from underrated album but I kept hearing references to “my salamander”.

How incredibly disappointing it was to find out that was actually the real lyric.

To me as a German, this is British humour at it's best. Just like Monty Python, or Benny Hill, or the "Carry On..." series. When I first saw these, I nearly wet myself for laughing.
