George Martin interview 1977

Post by Lord Reith »

Not sure where this came from but I found it while looking for something else. It's a 36 minute interview with Dennis McNamara from WLIR-FM 92.7 in 1977.

Worth a listen.

It's always interesting listening to George. He was their musical mentor and no matter what John may have said about him later, it's almost impossible to imagine them achieving what they did without him.

Indeed (and thanks). If anyone was the 5th Beatle, it was him.

I've got his three part "Rhythm of Life" series from VHS, taped back in 1997. I think it's on youtube anyway but if anyone is interested I'll drop a copy in the Video section. Paul is featured but there's not much Beatle content. It's mostly George talking to contemporary artists (Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion etc) Like all VHS taping, the picture and sound aren't perfect at times.
