For a long time people have been wondering who sings the lower harmony vocal on IDWTSTP. I heard a demix on youtube which seemed to sound like Paul, but I had the idea of shoving the song through Xmediapro which can separate backing vocals. Even though it gets confused and produces a hodge podge of different parts at times, there is enough of the lower harmony to tell well and truly that it is John. Have a listen:

Also just for the fun of it I ran "Hand" through it and it picked out some of Paul's vocal part. It's so strange how when their voices combine together they seem to change character totally. On it's own Paul's voice is so gentle, in contrast to John's.

Totally agree.
Listning to the Lords work makes the time with covid a lot more bearable.

It is miracle that you can extract backing vocals with Xmedia, which is video editing software....Lord Reith wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 4:49 am For a long time people have been wondering who sings the lower harmony vocal on IDWTSTP. I thought it was still Paul on Party till about 3/4 through and then I clearly hear John now. Interresting.

Paul's def well represented in there, still. Besides the backing "oohs", he comes in clear on the lines "Though tonight she's made me sad..." and "If I find her I'll be glad...".
It's the same, but opposite situation, like I'll Follow the Sun. Lewisohn (or one of them) said the session notes only had listed Paul's name as the vocalist, but: John's nasally tone uttering the words at the ends of the line(s) "...to see I've gone" or "...I was the one" indicate otherwise. I can be blasting BEATLES '65 in the downstairs room in the background and, in the case of that song, immediately recognize him during those parts.

Only my opinion.
I still and always thought it was Paul doing the lower register during the verses
and then they switch roles, then John does the lower register and Paul does the high register during the "so tonight she's made me sad ............"
These are the genius little quirks that made The Beatles The Beatles!
