It's impossible to choose just one! I think I have to nominate Paul's "I Can't Imagine." It must be one of his finest records that hardly anyone outside our circle has ever heard.

Re: Your Number One Solo Song
As others have mentioned...it's an almost impossible question to answer.
Personally, my answers would change a month from now depending on what type of mood I'm in musically speaking.
For now it would look like this:
John Lennon - How Do You Sleep
Paul McCartney - Band On The Run
George Harrison - Beware Of Darkness
Ringo Starr - Photograph

Re: Your Number One Solo Song
Macca too many to mention
but currently
ARROW THROUGH ME.
So catchy.
Surprised that no popular artist never picked this little known gem up as a cover version.
Hope that there will be various versions on "back to the egg archive".
Whenever that will be .
It always amazes me how many different styles Paul is capable of.
I know they dont always come off but more than often they do.
Such an amazing musician / artist.

The one I play most often is "Lay His Head" by George. Love it!
When you've got it, jump up! ~ John Lennon
Re: Your Number One Solo Song
"All Those Years Ago" - because it's a great tribute song. Funnily enough, when I first listened to "Here Today" (I would have been 12) I thought it was a cringely sentimental love song. When I found it later it was about Lennon I found it heartbreaking. Writing tribute songs must be very inspiring for songwriters, there's a lot of very good ones out there.
I'm embarrassed to say I don't many of the Macca songs mentioned here. I'm only really familiar with "Wings Greatest", "Tug of War", "Pipes of Peace" and some singles from the 80s and early 90s. I always loved some of this b-sides, like "C-Moon", "Daytime Nightime Suffering" and "I'll Give You A Ring" so I should really check out his back catalogue, especially for hidden treasures.

Re: Your Number One Solo Song
I also have to nominate "Kicked Around No More." Just... fuckin' hell. Brilliant. Any artist trying to make it in the music industry today would give his left nut to be able to write a song as good as this one, that Paul threw away as a bonus track on a CD EP. So simple, and so amazing.

Silly Love Songs.
Dumb song, but it is so catchy and brings back very clear memories from when it was playing on the radio at the time of release.
