Audio quality on James Paul McCartney DVD

Post by Onkster II »

…the one included on the RRS deluxe set.

So how is the sound? Mono? And does it have better frequency range than the TV versions most of us are used to?

I ask because some of the song versions here are my favorites, and would like to extract them for use in compilations.

Man, I'd love to be able to get a copy of the official DVD . I'm sure it's better than anything posted on YouTube .

Well, dangit. I wonder if some EQ/remixing/compression might help any of it. Still sounds like TV sound to me!

They've GOT to have better recordings from this in the vault somewhere. The acoustic medley exists in great quality. The rest ought to as well.

Would a direct copy of the official DVD be better than what's available from YouTube , I've heard that video stuff from there is compressed or knocked down in quality somehow , is that true ??

My guess would be yes, if only marginally. I’d love to work on a “restored” version of this, if only I could get a rip if the DVD audio.
