Macca Singles Box

Post by beatlesbelmo »

What singles are not on the Macca Box set that should have been? Country Hams? Suzy and the Red Stripes? Do these qualify? Any others? Alternate mixes?

Nice list. Keep in mind most of those mono promo's are nothing more than fold-downs of the stereo mixes.

"Letting Go" promo mix is the commercial stock version that is included on the Venus & Mars Archive edition and also on this singles box. It's always listed as the promo mix but it's actually the regular 45 mix also.

"Mary Had A Little Lamb" also had a special mix on the German 45 that does not have Paul's children in the mix.

"With A Little Luck" stereo edit is also included on this singles box set.

I agree The Country Hams 45 as well as Suzy & The Red Stripes should have been on this set along with "Zoo Gang".

Again, nice job on the list!

Something we don't know about Capitol remixes, did they take place after the execs had heard them? Or did they take place after they had heard them; and decided which was the one that was going on the promo singles. At this time in their history, who can even be asked? Gawd I wish there was somebody whom we could ask.

What exactly is the question you are trying to ask here? What "Capitol remixes" are you referring to?

I can help out with the remix of "Letting Go". That was issued on the 45 that I know of in the US,UK and Japan. I'm guessing it was issued worldwide and that came right from McCartney when mixing it for the 45.

I think German version of Mary Had A Little Lamb, might be different

If Macca added these Edited Tracks it would be a bigger set

Missing are 3 more singles

2 Remixes by Denny Laine from Holly Days..It's So Easy-Listen To Me (Medley) is Edited from late 1976 on US Single

Moondreams was in Mono, on US promo single 1977

What I've always wanted to ask:
What is the "Smile Away [German mono mix]"?

There is a Spanish mono single, yes, but I've never heard of a German one. It can't be found on the internet either.
Who owns or has seen this single? What serial number does it have?

I would have liked to have solved this riddle.
