Re: Official Album SURVIVOR (Round 4)
I’m a bit surprised that WTB is gonna drop this week - it’s always been one of my faves.

I wouldn't want to NOT have those six "cover" songs.
And the original tunes are all great.
Oh, well...

Yeah, I know. WTB will be missed. It appears MMT is in imminent trouble, too.
Revolver and The White Album seem to be safe until we get down to the top 5. But Beatle folks can have a change of heart just like that....
I've always preferred MTB to WTB. It's the song order from the Capitol release that's burned into memory.

Went for The Beatles. Some great songs on there but a bit inconsistent compared to the others still standing.
But it's a case of 'least best' at this point: it's still a great album.

Re: Official Album SURVIVOR (Round 5)
Yellow Submarine excepted, we can say they are all great albums. Sure everyone will have his favourite which may also vary over time.
Then each album has his plus and minus. For round 2, I voted Let It Be because of the Phil Spector production and the carnage of The Long And Winding Road. Still, you have with Let It Be one of the major Beatles classic and other major songs like Get Back or Across The Universe.
For round 3, I voted Beatles 4 Sale. They were tired after a hectic year and had to rush the sessions. Great performances of covers, great songs but not in the same league as other Beatles offerings.
For round 4, I voted With The Beatles. Again, great album and All My Loving as stand out. But then a choice had to be made.
Round 5 was much more difficult. I hesitated between Help ! and Please Please Me. Yesterday, You've got To Hide Your Love Away, I've Just Seen A Face won over I Saw Her Standing There and Twist And Shout. True, Magical Mystery Tour is not an original UK album, but then Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, I Am The Walrus, The Fool On The Hill, All You Need Is Love, Hello Goodbye ... make me easily forget that point.

As long as MMT is still there I don't have a difficult choice...everything else that's left after that will be a pretty tough decision.
Re: Official Album SURVIVOR (Round 5)
i think the Magical Mystery Tour double ep would be a great Record Store Day release
has nothing to do with this voting
it just came to me as a great RSD option

Abbey Road, once you get it out of your system it becomes a bit average, mind you it's quality throughout but I think that makes the set drag on for the whole hour.
