Has it been confirmed that the "global theatrical engagement" is also IMAX? I took that to mean it would be shown in regular movie theaters.Lord Reith wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:14 am A global theatrical engagement of the 60-minute feature, “The Beatles: Get Back–The Rooftop Concert,” will then run from February 11th until the 13th, 2022.
So, bluray/DVd on the 8th and then the IMAX on the 11-13th.

Wasn't that just an advertisement for the Get Back series streaming on the Disney channel?Lord Reith wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 12:01 amBalls to that.Rickenbacker325 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 1:15 pm It looks like it’ll be in its full split screen glory in IMAX….

Nope…it’s a trailer of some sort for the theatrical run of the rooftop concert. It even says “PG-13”miggynav wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 4:11 amWasn't that just an advertisement for the Get Back series streaming on the Disney channel?Lord Reith wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 12:01 amBalls to that.Rickenbacker325 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 1:15 pm It looks like it’ll be in its full split screen glory in IMAX….

Can you imagine how awkward it would be trying to watch all that split screen stuff on an imax screen? Talk about neck strain.
Re an extended bluray set, I guess it also depends on whether it's put to PJ within the next few weeks. I mean, the guy is a world famous director. If Appledisney come back in October and say, "Hey Pete! We'd like a directors cut!" he's already going to be onto other things and won't have time any more. Even giving the once over and approval to a master prepared by someone else can be a big ask - just ask anyone who has been waiting 10 years for James Cameron to approve the HD master of The Abyss.

Presumably, you meant James Cameron. Otherwise, I can see how asking Ridley Scott would create some kind of delay.Lord Reith wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 10:32 am just ask anyone who has been waiting 10 years for Ridley Scott to approve the HD master of The Abyss.

Any chance of a deluxe box set surely depends on how this one sells but going by the negativity of this board and others I frequent, don’t hold your breath.
