matching takes from the LIB Box to DDSI numbers -

One After 909 (Take 3)

The Take 3 on the 28th known as DDSI 28.53 is quite different, so before thinking previous sources marked this wrong, I checked for other dates for 909 multitracked items as well. FOUND IT on January 29th - they did 3 more takes starting over with 1,2 and 3 as well. DDSI29.47 - you can hear the unique intro, chats, and false starts from DDSI 29.46 Honky Tonk- so we know that was multitracked too etc...I ALSO hear a TAKE 6 yelled out. 6 would be more correct as 3 takes were done on the 28th, but the tape box notes show Glyn wrote down 2 and 3 again on the 29th (no idea about another Take 1 yet).

So this was not previously released in Multitrack form on Anthology, bootlegs, GB comps, or the LIB comps.

look at DDSI24.41 and .42 - you'll get the FULL recording. The boxed set edits this down a lot.

on the LIB Box - disc 2 track 3 - CAN YOU DIG IT.

LOOK UP DDSI24.85 and listen - John is playing the slide guitar and there's a lot of jamming - the BOX SET contains the last few seconds of this item as it was recorded by Glyn John's on 8 track. Some was used on the LIB album...

I think I found Get Back (Take 8) listed on the LIB Box.

On January 27th lots of recordings of Get Back were done and no takes were numbered. We first narrow the recordings down to those Glyn Johns recorded on Multitrack as Apple isn't going to use a NAGRA mono source for the tracks on this box - but go to the 8track reels Glyn Johns recorded to eventually eval for the Get Back albums and so forth -

So - I think I found a match!
Check out DDSI27.52 - while the Nagra source has a hot distorted beginning, the Glyn Johns source we get to hear for the first time does not. Listen to the Preston solo and Paul's ad libs during the choruses. Then the reprise matches completely and ends with Paul - okay man.

So this was not previously released in Multitrack form on Anthology, bootlegs, GB comps, or the LIB comps.

Billy Preston - WITHOUT A SONG

look at DDSI28.66 - it's called UNLESS HE HAS A SONG.

The BOX Set version is edited down. YOu can hear the full recording and others Billy recorded as well during some free time he had with John and Ringo to jam.
