Question on Paul McCartney The 7" Singles Box Track Listing

Post by Jokerman »

I was looking over the track listing of the recently announced Paul McCartney The 7" Singles Box and had two questions that I was hoping someone might be able to help with:

Disc 49 (Party Party) has the B-side listed as "Artwork Etching"; does anyone have any idea of what this means - perhaps a "blank" b-side?

Disc 69 (I Want To Come Home) has the B-side listed as "(I Want To) Come Home [Demo]" - has this track been commercially released before?

Thanks!

An etched maxi single was released, Figure Of Eight / Où Est Le Soleil, and yes it means one side of the record is decorated. So I guess it will be the same here.

The demo of I Want To Come Home is unreleased until now.

I saw a Morrisey etched single once - side 2 was completely smooth vinl, no groove, but cut into it was a picture. From memory just a line drawing of something or other.

Am I right in thinking “I Want To Come Home was only available in MP3 format, so this is the first time we have a lossless version.

Does anybody know if there is going to be a digital lossless version of this set or even a CD version? Let's hope not 80 CD singles please! Many thanks.

Great news and great list! Shows us the particular ones we need (and which ones we don't...).

The etched side is indeed smooth with a drawing / design on top.

I Want To Come was available on promo CDs.

And yes the whole set will be available in downloadable lossless quality.

Does anybody have any recommendations as to the best site to use for the lossless download, EG Qobuz or 7Digital or are they all offering the same sound quality. I'm used to using iTunes and Amazon Music, but not lossless sites. Many thanks.

Thanks to everyone who helped on this. I took a quick look at the list of tracks on:
https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/album/the-7 ... ayhv7vgohb

There are 4 songs apparently missing there from the announced track list:
* Old Siam Sir (B-side to Arrow Through Me)
* C Moon (B-Side to All My Trials) - though could be a repeat of track 101
* We All Stand Together (B-Side to Tropic Island Hum)
* Wonderful Christmastime (B-Side to The Christmas Song)
