Can anybody who is an authority on these recordings (Doug Sulpy perhaps) point us to what they consider the best version of each stage of the Get Back album? I have books giving recommendations but they are years out of date.

Here are the different acetates with what my books say are the best (or only bootleg sources) at the time of publication:

Acetate #1 (c. 30 Jan 69) - Is Posters, Incense and Strobe Candles (Vigotone) still the best source?

Acetate #1.5 "Beatles Sunday" - Get Back John Barrett's Reel ?

Acetate #2 (c. 2 May 69) - O.P.D.

Acetate #3 (28 May 69) - Get Back and 22 Other Songs (YD)

Glyn John's Final Lineup (c. 5 Jan 1970) (aka "2nd Mix") - Get Back 2nd Mix (Strawberry STR 006)

Does the recent official release of Get Back (Acetate #3) as part of the Let It Be deluxe box replace the bootleg, once the correct version of For You Blue is substituted from the Japanese version of the Let It Be deluxe box?

I imagine some purists would say the Disc 4 in the ROW deluxe set is version 3b.
I imagine you can substitute JPN SDE disc 4 for Version 3

I think I would be remiss if I didn't mention the Master Jedi work too.
Not finding that post. I am sure most here have it.

Hi beatlefan99,

I'm afraid D2T3 (Save the Last Dance for Me) of your Get Back, Glynis (SS-044/45) is corrupted. At 1.6 seconds, it abruptly skips to Don't Let Me Down. I'm sorry for this negative comment, but I thought everybody who downloads/downloaded this copy should know that.

My copy (downloaded from PR site) is not corrupted, but it has 2 sec gaps between tracks, and lengths of Tracks 03 and 04 differ from
your copy, so I will refrain from uploading it.

Track 03:
Your copy 0:48
My copy: 1:02

Track 04
Your copy: 4:40
My copy: 4:30

edit: According to the artwork, lengths of my copy seem OK.
