Thanks a ton! Will be a nice thing to tide us over until MasterJedi fills in the gaps.

I have a question about 18 October 1964 session
Rock And Roll Music full piano mix: is that the mono mix with louder piano?
I'm just trying to figure out exactly what it is I'm listening to.

Thanks, Jack

It's a rough mono "mix" with piano playing all the way through. In the real mixes part of the piano was muted because of bad notes.

Just curious (and puzzled 🤔 ), I know that every scholar has his own theory about Help Mono remixes, slightly or completely different from the others... but in Vol. 6, “Vintage Mixes” Help Acetate is named RM3; shouldn’t it be RM4(#1), the last (and best) of April 18 Mono remixes?

Go figure.

PC Help! Deluxe mentions RM4 as the one used for the production acetate but implies the original mono mix was from Take 13 (?), while Helter Skelter BTB has an alternate mix, unnumbered, labeled as "aka Take 13" and is supposed to be in stereo (?).

Lewisohn mentions 3 mono mixes on April 18, 1965 (RM1-3 from Take 12), the last one deemed the best to be used for the film. RM4 is listed as from the session mix on June 18, 1965 (with the mention "Final mixing for single and LP").

Helter Skelter also mentions RM4 from Take 12 as being the production acetate mix but wrongly states it as from April 13 instead of April 18, and has a RM? from Take 12 original mix for film with new vocals created at CTS Studios on May 24, 1965.

If you can figure it who will?

oh it's much more complicated 🤔 :? 🤕 : Lewisohn 'version' (April 18, 1965 (RM1-3 from Take 12)) clashes a little with Winn, according to which there are two RM4: on April 18 Barrett reported 3 mono remixes as RM2-RM3-RM4, thus the final remix for Single/LP should be called RM4 #2 ;)
------
may RM1 be the rough mix made on April 13? or this 'rough mix' mentioned only by Winn never existed?
------
Winn himself changed his mind; now he thinks that 'RM4' were used in the Film and that of production acetate is a Mono reduction of RS1
