A list of known unbootlegged material?

Post by MCPing16 »

Calling all experts (of which there are many on this site),

Following on from the wonderful new material that has just surfaced, I wondered if it would be possible to produce a list of absolutely confirmed material that is known to definitely exist rather than just "apparently there's this tape of xxxx. If I'm being thick and there is a list of this already please could some kind soul post a link to point me in the right direction.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. I have compiled the list below. What an amazing box set this would make.

Unbootlegged List

1957-07-06 – Woolton Village Fete Tape
Lu Walters – Ringo + Beatles – Summertime/Fever
Tape with early version of When I’m 64
Cavern recording owned by Paul
Dick James Demos
1962-06-06 – 1st EMI session tape
1962-09-05 – Cavern session tape
1962 – Oct + Dec – People and Places (full tape)
1962-11-27 – The Talent Spot radio show
1963-01 – 3 song Cavern Tape (What Goes On, Love of the Loved, Misery)
1963 – What Goes On (demo)
1963 – 11 out of 15 Pop Go The Beatles
1963 – Aug – Bournemouth concert tape
1964-06-06 – Live Blokker (SBD)
1964-06-09 – Live in Hong Kong
1964-06-12 – Live in Adelaide (Radio Broadcast)
1964-09-16 – Live New Orleans
1964-10-16 – ABC Theatre (is there a tape of the whole show?)
1964 – It’s For You (full demo)
1964 – World Without Love (full demo)
1965 – July – Live concert in Spain 2nd or 3rd (SBD)
1966-06-24 – Live Munich (SBD)
1967-01-05 – Carnival of Light (Complete)
1968-07-18 – Helter Skelter (Take 3 -27 mins)
1968 – Hello Miss Mary Bee (George demo)

The two items I can think of are the tape of the Bournemouth show from 1963 and the acetate from the 1st recording session at EMI. It would also be great to know which of the items on the list are buried in the Apple vault with little chance of release. In the Eight Days A Week film there was a poor quality clip of the Hammersmith 1965 show. Is this part of a longer clip?

If this is a rubbish idea then I apologise. However, I thought it would make for an interesting read if nothing else.

Thanks in advance.

Bernie

Yeah there's more of Hammersmith.

Another fun unbootlegged thing is, in February 1969 the Beatles were filmed at Saville again.

There is that Cavern recording which Macca owns which, even though it's supposedly in awful quality, I would still love to hear.

I'm afraid this falls into the category of "I read somewhere", Macca bought a recording of their 1964 Hong Kong concert at auction.

From "The Unreleased Beatles" book:

What was described as “the only existing recording of a Beatles concert at Hong Kong’s Princess Theater in Kowloon in 1964” was put up for auction by Christie’s in London on September 28, 2005, but failed to sell.
