Re: First Play At Shea
Thank you for SHEA!!!...
Ron Furmaneck mixed many CD's for Capitol Records 'Rock 'N' Roll' Series, plus some Apple CD's
He mixed Mandred Mann, The Hollies, Gerry & The Pacemakers,
Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas, Swinging Blue Jeans, & Freddie & The Dreamers..
The 1991-1993 US CD's
Not sure if he did the 2 CD set [US] The Yardbirds 'Little Games'
In the UK, EMI has the 'Best Of EMI Series'...Love to get the set....

He did in fact do the Little Games 2CD…And he was doing some fine work on the Beatles catalogue until he was unceremoniously removed…and this might’ve had something to do with the fact that he wasn’t British…at least this is what I was told a while ago. He should’ve been the one to remix the catalogue as maybe we wouldn’t have all of this clipped material with zero dynamic range as we do now
Re: First Play At Shea
I know Ron personally. Great guy. His work on Beatles stuff stopping was nothing to do with his nationality . More to do with changes at Apple if memory serves me right.
Interestingly, he and Giles Martin differ in their stories about Shea. Ron says that the tapes were 4 tracks across 2 stereo machines, whereas Giles Martin says it was 2 machines but just 2 track and both machines recorded the same.
Ron's still working on material. A few years back he was responsible for the fabulous Herman's Hermits Bear Family set, and currently he is working with the Hollies digging out unreleased material. This has been delayed by the pandemic as getting to London to go through tapes at Abbey Road is not easy at the moment.
His brother Bob is fab too. Film restoration is his game.

Ron Furmaneck did work in a DVD version for the Let it Be movie, sound and image. It remains unpublished, well except for the Bootleg.Bazilnerk wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 5:50 pm I know Ron personally.
