I Am the source, I was stationed at Bitburg Air Base, in West Germany [Dec 1981-July 1985]

Look up Pres. Reagan Bitburg Cemetary Visit 5 May 1985

Around 1984, I ended up be friends with the English DJ's who worked at Radio Luxembourg
There could be a chance, The Beatles might have record Live Music, & Tapes could be in their Archives
I do know there is a Julian Lennon Interview the Radio Lux...
The DJ's at the time told me he stopped in Luxembourg, & did an Interview

The very first CD's that were released were Classical Music in 1982,
& around later some Pop & Rock stuff came out...
CD's took off a little in 1984...I remembering seeing the 'We Are The World' CD
& 'Every Man Has A Woman'...I used to have this CD...Never seen it posted in FLAC ever, or re-released
Huge Beatles Fan & collector Anything Beatles/Solo related,

which includes NEMS, Apple, Dark Horse, Ring'O, & MPL Labels

Beach Boys/Related, & The Byrds/CSNY/Related..& many other acts

I don't know if anyone has done a look thru' Radio Luxembourg Archives,
in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg

The late great '208'

I forgot to mention, they had a local FM Station who did Afternoons
with Stuart & Ollie...Them & Tony Prince I did not meet, but everyone else
who did the English Service

I have a few photo on my big photo album, from, Radio Lux,
Abbey Road, & Cynthia Lennon
Now add Sean Lennon, & the 2 bands; Dhani Harrison & Jeff Lynne'
& Sir Paul MCartney...I do have one from 1992 with Ringo & ASB,
but the friend forgot to tell me about zooming in

My internet research indicates that Beatle releases on CDs were not issued until 1987 & 1988 and the first 4 were in Mono. It's odd that the insert of the CD jackets shows a perferation down the center of the artwork. Also, if these were original real CDs the tracks would have been broken down individually rather than single flac and cue file. The artwork is impressive but it seems doubtful that this was a real Aussie release but was rather taken from the actual vinyl release. That's just my findings and I could be wrong. If anyone has information that is otherwise, please share.

I see. Why is there no info on the internet of ANY CDs of this set ever issued anywhere? Only vinyl and casstte versions? It's an interesting set that needs more background. The artwork is amazing in quality. Thanks for your info so far.

This set was recently brought to my attention and I dug into this a bit further.
For starters, the BC13 Blue Box was never released on cd...that is an undeniable fact.
It was only released on vinyl and on cassette tape.

I did a comparison of the audio on this particular set with a hi-res needledrop that I received back in 2015 from the person who actually did the needledrop. I will not mention the persons name because I am not at liberty to say....however, the audio here is identical. The only difference is that the audio has been downsampled from 24/96 to 16/44.1....and incorrectly I might add. The original needledrop has all the tracks separate and tagged properly on every album in the box set.

1 - The vinyl noise heard at the beginning of tracks is the exact same noise as the vinyl I have in hi-res.
2 - If this is legit....(and it's not)....why is a cd rip being shared as one long file for each album? Cd's don't rip like that.
3 - The gatefold artwork showing all of the cds. How exactly does it fold if you have a row of cds directly down the center of it?

It's one thing to say, "hey I created this cool set from a hi-res vinyl source" and simply share it...it's another to say that this is legit when it clearly is not.
I have an idea.....take actual pictures of this set sitting on a table. Multiple shots of the box, the cds, the artwork....fan it out and show everything.

The claim being made is that it was purchased in Germany in or around 1985 or so. That means the needledrop I have actually traveled back in time and ended up on compact disc before compact discs were even a "thing".....which is amazing!

This is a fake.

Here's what Steve Hoffman says on his website:

"I'm restoring this thread.

If you want to talk about the Beatles Blue Box vinyl set, go right ahead.

If you want to talk about the bootleg CD's that are for sale made from the old Blue Box records, forget it, find another Internet Forum.

Feel free to talk about the actual Beatles' Blue (or Red or Black) vinyl boxes all you want."

Reference is https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/ ... ed.117297/

I never heard of cassette Blue Box, only the vinyl LP Blue Box, actually named The Collection but since it was in a blue box...

Like many other people, I have the DESS version.

Thanks for the update on this 'mysterious' set. As for Hoffman's statement that he's never heard of a 'cassette' set and only vinyl doesn't mean they don't exist. If you search the net for a cassette set version of BC13 you will find many references that they DO exist. As for a CD set, it doesn't seem that they exist and of they do were fan created and not an official release.
