Re: The 2012 Vinyl Re-Issues Were From 44.1khz Source

There’s a good article here that includes details on the mono set which includes the following: https://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/beatles-remastering-team-answer-your-vinyl-mono-box-questions/ Do you think it would be possible to create new stereo LP reissues using the same all-analog process ...

Re: Extracting CDRs - Issues

By crystalisation, do you mean that cloudy goo that forms on the playing surface? If so, it can be removed with a drop of Dawn, a microfiber cleaning cloth, and a little patience. Get Back Journals 2 was noted for that, IIRC. Bad flashback to getting GBJ2 home, opening it up, and seeing one of the ...

Re: THE LOST '65 SINGLE

Could we hive off all the bootlegs recollections here into a brand new thread? This stuff is too interesting to get lost in an otherwise unrelated thread. You could call it "The Old Timers' Bootleg-Shopping-Recollections Thread". :P I've split them out to a new topic. We now resume discus...

Re: THE LOST '65 SINGLE

Back in the late seventies when I was in high school, I used to listen into the wee early morning hours to a weird college radio station. The station introduced me to "The Velvet Underground and Nico." Rest assured, this isn't a post on the merits of "Heroin." But on one occasio...

Re: THE LOST '65 SINGLE

Mt first boots were counterfeits of the Deccagone singles that I found in a second hand record store. That was a really big deal for me. But I was shocked at how different they sounded, and how more than anything their sound lacked any charm or charisma. I couldn't believe it was The Beatles. Howev...

Re: Anyone for needledrops? Audiophile-related stuff?

Visiting from the old board here! One of my favourite things about that place was the fact that most of the seasoned and respected needle-droppers and tape-rippers and all the other various sorts of fantastical audio-playback recorders conglomerated there and their wonderful work was able to be sha...

Re: THE LOST '65 SINGLE

There was no excitement to match buying one of those nice looking beatleg lps and getting it home, taking the shrink wrap off and putting it on the turntable! Magic! And the fact that it was all so secret, and few Beatles fans knew about them. I felt like I was part of a very unique club, even thou...

Back to the Egg '79 TV Special Remastered

Wogew has a great write up about this special which you should check out.

I also want to use this as a test of a new media embed codec just installed on the forum:
