Sometimes my only question is MKV or MP4. I tend to go with MKV mostly but when I download some things 4k Video Downloader offers a "bigger" file size in MP4 in which case I go with that option. Would I be right in assuming the source file would dictate that ? So am i wrong in taking which...

I had a policy of burning a DVD and also saving the files on a hard disk so if one fails i have the other medium.
Got to the stage now where i only do that for discs i really want and everything else just gets saved to a hard disk.
