Re: Red & Blue Albums
Wonder what place I should hang out more regularly, if posting my silly BS over here gets positive reactions, while csnyfan posting the truth (don't nail me on that word) over at SHF gets some hostile replies. No matter if 'immensely silly post' is a reply to csnyfan or the reply is an immensely sil...

Re: Red & Blue Albums
Let me know what you think! hxxps://we.tl/t-kePWx4Ni20 We need to work on your professionalism, I think. First: Use peak limiting. You don't want this to be compared to the much louder official one. Second: Give your tools a marketable name. How about E.P.S.T.E.I.N.? (Eq procedure significantly twe...

Re: Red & Blue Albums
According to Andrew from Parlogram Auctions, his source has confirmed that SLY was taken from a mono master tape and not from a vinyl record. https://youtu.be/HeSOtAKYhM4 I rewatched the segment. Andrew is actually telling us what PJ received according to his impeccable source, not what ended up on...

Re: Red & Blue Albums
According to Andrew from Parlogram Auctions, vinyl is usually more dynamic because he sees some peaks in the waveform, and rare early tube cut pressings are sounding better because he sees something in a spectrogram and misinterprets distortion as musical content. Why he doesn't look at She Loves Yo...

Re: Red & Blue Albums
Thanks. So what LR meant to say that he heard a 1.3 second wobble, not a 1.3 Hz wobble. A Hertz is a measurement of frequency, so 1Hz is one oscillation per second. 1.3 Hz is 1.3 oscillations per second, that of a 45rpm record with an off centre hole. https://www.aqua-calc.com/one-to-one/frequency/...

Re: Red & Blue Albums
45 rotations per minute means one rotation takes 60/45 (~1.3) seconds, that beeing 45/60(0.75)Hz. You don't end up with a signal at that frequency, but you will alternatingly end up with the groove passing the stylus too quick/too slow resulting in all frequencies modulating at that rate by an amou...

Re: Red & Blue Albums
Files not accessible currently, but if I remember correctly, L & R of the transfer used around 1988 for CD singles and Past Masters are not identical too.

Re: Red & Blue Albums
Thanks for the analysis. I'm not simply clicking the 'thanks' button because I read on another minor music forum your has/been thanked ratio is already a red flag, and I think the splices falling apart is nowhere near a good reason to use a source that's worse than any of the easily available existi...

Re: Red & Blue Albums
When matched and aligned very accurately, the sync between different transfers should be jumping as opposed to drift if there are slightly different splices (no matter done physically or digitally), so you would have to cut or insert a few samples to keep them aligned before and after the edit. Also...
