Re: Macca at 80 on the telly

Many many thanks for both these Guru-Deva, fantastic - I never thought I would get to see them. Thanks again :D Robert No worries, I managed to convert Idris and Macca to mp4 - but it took a long time, first I opened it in VLC and used the Convert/Stream command and managed eventually to save it as...

Re: Various off-air Beatles-related stuff I've found on old tapes or DVD-Rs.....

Number 2 Macca @ 80 and Idris Elba As well as VHS and DVD-R recordings, I'll be uploading some recordings made as EyeTV files. I previously posted most of this stuff in the Macca @ 80 thread in their original form, but I THINK I've now found a way to losslessly convert the EyeTV files to a more foru...

Re: Beatles at the Cavern B-roll with dubbed audio

Fantastic work, as always. It really brings these little orphaned fragments to life just by having more appropriate audio synced to them. I don't think the clips can be in the right order though, because Paul's hair is soaked (01.18), then later (01.58) there's a close-up and his hair is dry and coi...

I've already done that with "Hold Me Tight" sorry. I can't go back twice. It's called the Blinovitch Limitation Effect.
Good grief!

Re: Official different/variation mixes

Yes, for Beatles records the term ‘remix’ doesn’t tell you whether or not a mix was the first mix. The original mix would be RM1, so even the first mix is called a ‘remix’ Then you’ll get RS1, so the stereo remix is called a ‘remix’ These days we would call both mixes. Those lists will use the EMI c...

Re: Official different/variation mixes

‘Mix’ and ‘Remix’ in Beatles terms are pretty interchangeable really. The reason mixes have the EMI codes Of RS2 or RM1 or whatever is because RS is ‘Remix Stereo’ and RM is ‘Remix Mono’. In those days ‘remix’ was used for the first and any subsequent mixes, but these days remix has come to mean mor...
