Re: Abbey Road (Black Triangle) CD

The "upside down smiley face" EQ curve makes me think that the CD wasn't properly de-emphasised, alas. My digitally de-Emphasized version doesn't sound exactly like my old live-to-WAV captures from a vintage player so the De-Emph plugin thingy may not be 100% accurate versus actual hardwa...

Abbey Road (Black Triangle) CD

Thought I'd create a new thread for this (and EQ-match each track, with pictorial content displayed herein): Most people with the famous Black Triangle rip of Abbey Road have downloaded it from the 'net (and most of these people can't tell if their rip was properly de-emphasised or not). I found a f...

Re: Only A Northern Songtrack

You're welcome!

If people could continue seeding this one for a while after they've finished downloading, that would be good.

Engonoceras wrote: Sun Jun 13, 2021 8:20 pm Here's the "Long Tall Sally" EP. The mid-range is dialed back way too far so this would be a good candidate for remastering and "EQ matching" (hint, hint). The mono mixes kick ass.
It's been in the queue for quite a while, waiting for me to get around to doing it...!!!

Re: Only A Northern Songtrack

I've started that one up again, seeing that there is a level of interest in this!!! YSS is quite heavily compressed (not as bad as the 2017 remix of SPLHCB...!!!) and I wanted to make it breathe, so I put the tracks through the EQ-matching process which made them sound a lot better to my ears: anoth...

Re: Disque Americ Revolver

Following on from my earlier post, I lined up the left channel of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds from the regular '87 CD to the left channel from the Disque Americ version. Zoomed in, drilled down to the granular level to see the samples and get the two versions lined up: one of these then became a r...

Re: ABBEY ROAD SOURCE SHOOTOUT!!!

The source of the Abbey Road Pro Use LP version wasn't mentioned (was it pbthal's 'drop or an effort made by an anonymous 'dropper/uploader?): different turntables, styli, cartridges, pre-amps, cabling and soundcards all contribute to making one person's 'drop different to another person's 'drop. Al...

Re: Disque Americ SPLHCB

Just downloaded the Disque Americ version of SPLHCB via a torrent I've found: here's a blown up snapshot of the centre of the disc/disque: https://i.imgur.com/v0WrJql.png Here's a snapshot of the EAC log of my '87 CD next to the EAC log of the DA version: obvious differences in the indexing: https:/...
