Re: Extracting CDRs - Issues
My joy knew no bounds when I found that the tray to the Philips recorder could easily be pulled out with your fingers. So all you had to do was put a blank "audio" cd in the recorder, let the machine recognise it and then go idle, and then pull the tray open and replace the disc with a ch...

Re: Mach Schau - new book at www.apcor.net
Thorsten the book looks fantastic but the postage is absolutely astronomical. It's almost the same as the price of the book. I really want to buy this but cannot afford postage like that. Is there any chance of you using a different carrier? I've spoken to other people and I think you are losing ma...

Re: Extracting CDRs - Issues
I remember the time when my boss wanted to invest into, ahem, a "ZIP-drive" of course, I prevented him from throwing money to the wind, and the latest word on the subject, a CD-Rec drive was duly bought. The first results were awful, as I remember; it was almost useless for copyi...

Re: Question on Ripping Vinyl
Depends on the quality of your vinyl first and on your plans, what you intend to do with your rip. If your vinyl disc is not close to EX, M, it makes sense to apply the standard Redbook conditions (16 bits, 44.1 kHz). If it sounds great and is not burdened with too much defects, and you are not rest...

Re: Extracting CDRs - Issues
I have 2 kinds of software for extracting CD-Rs, EAC (freeware) and SoundForge (not free). As soon as EAC starts giving me blues regarding audio extraction because some tracks are badly readable or not at all, I stop it so as not to waste time (there is no guarantee the end result in EAC will be a q...
