The CD EP collection also has the most dynamic version of Twist and Shout, I believe it's the delta mono mix.
According to Barrett's notes, the session tape E48879 was recorded in two track only, so there wasn't a delta mono mix to use.

Re: MLH's 'Let It Be' is coming!

Indeed, and the concept of the album was meant to reflect a band working towards a live performance, that’s why it included rough edges to make it ‘flow’ a bit more and leave out the polishing that happened on the regular albums (that were basically pinnacles of what studio production could reach). ...

Re: MLH's 'Let It Be' is coming!

If I recall correctly there wasn’t ever a “director’s cut”, that stands for a custom cut made by the director when the official cut(s) (often forced by the studio/distributor for having the final say) are deemed unsatisfactory. Think Apocalypse Now and all the recuts. Here we’re talking simply the d...

Re: Unknown, Let It Be Source

Come to think of it, it might be they just bothered to digitise the preview copies if those were available on some kind of tape format to save cost and hassle, and it might be Furmanek's Shea and LIB just happened to be in that lower quality state. Other leaks like the Long and Winding Road document...

Re: Penny Lane P5810 US Capitol Promo by Untehousn

Please could somebody explain the history of this version. I know they cobbled together a stereo version for the US Rarities album. However, I'm guessing that in 1967, a mono master of this version existed that was sent to Capitol. What happened to that master. Was it destroyed, lost or was it just...

Re: Unknown, Let It Be Source

Do you know how Furmanek's Shea work became public? I don't think it was like released to buy, but like how are fans able to access his 1990s Shea work? did he leak it? One can only speculate, but seeing so film and video much got leaked through HMC, it may have been part of a digitalisation projec...

Re: How do I turn a mono MKV into a stereo?

Sadly with AAC there's no other option then to re-encode (just the audio of course), for example with ffmpeg: ffmpeg -i original.mkv -map 0:v -map 0:a -c:v copy -af "pan=mono|c0=c0" -c:a libfdk_aac -b:a 192k fixed_audio.mkv that does rely on the officially paid codec libfdk_aac, if it isn'...

Re: How do I turn a mono MKV into a stereo?

If it's only in left then it's already stereo, just not properly mapped from a mono source (quite common for analogue transfers as then the L channel functions as the mono carrier). To help further I would need to know the exact details, as MKV is not a format but merely a container, it doesn't tell...
