Re: Harry And His Box Set (V1, 2, 7, 10, 12, 15, 14 update.)

Also, I've come to the belief that the PGTB shows, now that they're preserved, should be seen as albums in their own right. If they had been recorded in, say, the 90s, you just know they would have been released as CD sets and considered part of the discography. Yes they are a unique relic not only...

Re: Yellow Matter Custard (stereo)

Cool pics, thanks. :) I am sorely tempted to go and chop the end off of "I Got A Woman" on your new mix, LR. I listened to that LP so many times, it still never sounds right with the tag on that song. :D I can remember the huge shock I got in 1988 when I played "Beatles At The Beeb Vo...

Thank you so much, Lord Reith, for this! I'm still making my way through it. The extra bits of chat, along with the other groups, really present these performances in a much clearer context. Now we know why Lee Peters was talking about horses, etc. And the upgraded sound! Wowee. I do have one quest...

Re: Yellow Matter Custard (stereo)

I should add that I now like Glad All Over, but the really good version is the one they did for Saturday Club. I've often wondered how these 14 songs were chosen, and why there was never a sequel with tracks like Ooh My Soul. Just another Beatleg mystery I guess. Someone who was dealing with TMOQ a...

Re: Big Night In

Mike and Bernie Winters were always a second rate Morecambe & Wise Lol. there's a story (don't know if it's true) but Morecambe and Wise were on a chat show and the host asked them what they would have been if they weren't comedians and Eric Morecambe replied "Mike and Bernie Winters"...

Re: 60fps Anthology?

It's probably from the US or Japanese dvd if it's 60fps. Not noticeably different, but it was made in 25i so 50fps would be the preferred version.

Re: Big Night In

Thanks guys I'm glad you liked it. LOL could have did without seeing the dancing (?) at the end. OOF! Yeah Lionel Blair does some other routines during the show and they just leave me cold. There's funny footage in Follow The Beatles where Blair is trying to get The Beatles to learn an actual dance ...

"Also I believe the good Purple Chick has upgraded his Buddy Holly set over at guitars101" What is the date on the Buddy Holly update LR? The most recent one that I can find there is Jul 23, 2022. BTW, another hearty thanks for all that you do here. Isn't there one from just recently? May...
