Re: Terry Heneberry RIP

It would have been a major undertaking to do that show. It needed selection and planning of guest artists, sequencing, editing etc. I imagine it would have been quite stressful, that sense of "what are we recording at this session and are we going to get it all in the can in two hours?"

Sad. Not a fan but he was a big star.

Re: John shredding his vocal chords

John actually gives up the double tracking at the end. So they never actually finished it. On the file I posted, his vocal ends there.

Re: Long Long Long (George & guitar)

Thanks guys. It's such a nice song isn't it? George unfortunately mutilated a lot of his vocals with heavy effects. I think he was even more insecure about them than John. This song never needed anything other than an acoustic guitar, and I was always disappointed that there was no Kinfauns demo.

Re: Your thoughts on Elliot Mintz?

He still works for the Lennons, they view him as a trusted friend so he must be okay. You couldn't fool a family for 50 years. People who present to tv or radio have great difficulty stepping out of character. So they can seem very arrogant or patronising but it's just the voice. I think he's basica...

Re: FIRST US VISIT coming soon!

That was John's favourite progression, he used it or a variation of it on many of his songs. A lifelong fascination for him.

Re: John shredding his vocal chords

I always thought it was "scally's gonna finish you, you're gonna wish that you were dead" with "scally" as Liverpoolese for "scallywag".

Re: Terry Heneberry RIP

Poor Terry got thrown under the bus rather unfairly by George. He was a great producer and did a terrific job on Pop Go The Beatles.

RIP Terry, you just made it in time. ;)
