Re: Let's create an "International Markets Box Set"

My pick would be the Spanish 'Por Siempre', ever since I saw a picture of it in the Beatles Forever book in the early 1980s I was always intrigued by it. The track listing is nuts (I made a Spotify playlist) - six tracks from the (US) Magical Mystery Tour album alongside earlier tracks such as I Ca...

Re: HARRY AND HIS BOX SET

Someone ripped off something I uploaded and started selling it on Amazon. And if they'd only have waited about 3 weeks they'd have had the upgrade in better quality with more songs. There's stuff of mine out there being sold which is so outdated it's laughable. Besides, these ghastly looking ...

Re: Brain Epstein day

I'll celebrate that day! No Brian = no Beatlemania = we'd all be talking about the Beach Boys.

If ever there was a match made in heaven, it was The Beatles and Brian and George Martin.

Re: Let's create an "International Markets Box Set"

I knew I should have bought the copy I saw in Dixons. There's a green vinyl version too with the same cover but a different colour scheme. I love how the text is bent to fit in when whoever did it ran out of room. People often throw the accusation about "conceived by a five year old" but ...

Re: Let's create an "International Markets Box Set"

Essential Beatles is a real odd duck with a strange tracklisting. I never bought that one although I saw it often. I usually only bought those albums if they had a rare mix I was aware of. I was too poor to buy all of them. But I think it is actually a pretty interesting record and a good contender ...

Re: Need Help Identifying BBC Recording - "Memphis"

I remember that recording. I had it on an old boot called "Happy Birthday". It had a complete version of Johnny B Goode in terrible quality but pretty rare back then. I still have that boot.. terrible wobbly recordings.....but it was also the very first time I had ever heard 'Happy Birthd...

Re: Let's create an "International Markets Box Set"

I love this idea. I don't think there's much point in choosing albums based on the artwork, - for example, where the track-listing is identical to a UK release. GP I think that'll be one of the interesting things we'll find out. When I do the poll I'll also ask people to state why they made their c...
