Re: Yellow Matter Custard / Purple Matter Custard (stereo)

Awesome as always LR. Thank you so very much. Now you are all starting to see just why some people like ME have always been Twin-track Matter Custard heads, lol. I was always into it because of the little extra detail I could pick-up on here and there. Twin track is coming back! Like vinyl and cass...

Re: 60fps Anthology?

It's my experience that 99.99% of people don't know how to do video. That's understandable, it's complicated. But even commercial dvds are sometimes a mess. I can recall years ago someone sending me a video of the rooftop concert. But it had been mangled by about three different conversions between ...

Re: Harry And His Box Set (V1, 2, 7, 10, 12, 15, 14 update.)

The Xmas 1965 Saturday Club 'eavesdrop tape' is hilarious. One of my favourite things that I've downloaded so far. Love the bit where they're arguing about rehearsals (when Ringo explains his plans, Paul's 'Hmm-mmm' reminds me of Oliver Hardy reacting to some Stan Laurel nonsense :D ) I think it's ...

Re: Harry And His Box Set (V1, 2, 7, 10, 12, 15, 14 update.)

"twin-track" remixes of Yellow Matter Custard . I think a killer set or two would be compiling the absolute best-sounding BBC material, covers and originals, and hearing them in the same "twin-track" style. Yes, the Carol EP, and anything else from the July 1963 sessions, not on...

Re: Yellow Matter Custard / Purple Matter Custard (stereo)

Thanks for your feedback guys, good to know you enjoyed them. I didn't really expect anybody to be still interested in twintrack style mixes but I guess I was wrong. I guess that style of mixing is ingrained into our psyche. But aside from that, as a boy trying to learn guitar being able to just tur...

Thanks for re-upping. Upon checking I see that there is also a permanent link to both in MUR's Harry And His Box Set archive.

Re: 60fps Anthology?

The reason that there are 50 fields per second in the UK and 59.94 per second in the US is because the refresh rate of the cathode ray tubes was controlled by the mains frequency: 50hz in the UK and 59.94hz in the US. Likewise the speed of the synchronous motors in the tape recorders of the day was ...

Re: Harry And His Box Set (V1, 2, 7, 10, 12, 15, 14 update.)

Unfortunately, what people are really familiar with is John and George's gripes about the last Beatles tours, and that has lead to the "common knowledge" that the Beatles were a lousy live band. But it's not really fair to compare Budokan with the Who's Live at Leeds. That's why things li...

Re: Harry And His Box Set (V1, 2, 7, 10, 12, 15, 14 update.)

Thank you for clarifying. So now it appears there are at least 3 different edits of that chat: (TG, TOTP, and Live at the BBC) none of them complete on their own. Very interesting. Top Of the Pops was made by the BBC Transcription Service. They would study the forthcoming domestic programme schedul...
