Re: Yellow Matter Custard / Purple Matter Custard (stereo)

Lord Reith, I must say I don't usually go for demixes, but these really are truly enjoyable. All your demix work has been tasteful and well done, but for me these have a great sense of history and are just beautiful. From the bottom of my Beatles collector, musician and producer heart, thank you for...

Re: And Your Bird Can Sing - 2022 remix

It's really amazing just how generally error free the original Beatles mixes are and during mono/stereo mixing they were fading and modifying effects and levels LIVE as the tape was rolling. The Beatles multi-tracks are mostly pristine with no obvious head wear or crinkles/stretches you might get w...

Re: And Your Bird Can Sing - 2022 remix

The warble isn't quite a half-step, but it is definitely there. No doubt about it. I have a feeling it's not a mastering error but potentially a bit of stretch damage to the four-track tape or the result of time-stretching elements to sync them up (which would be totally avoidable, btw). Speed fluct...

Re: Mexican EPEM 10458 (1983)FLAC

I don't know if anybody else has digitized the Mexican EPs, but I have about 60 or 70 of them, some on EMI, some on Capitol, some on Apple, and they're nothing to write home about sonically. Most are mono, but a bunch of the EMI ones are stereo, and pretty tinny sounding.

Re: The Beatles And Harry At The Beeb

Sorry there will be another one either today or tomorrow. You, sir, have nothing whatsoever to apologize for. You're doing a significantly better job with these archival releases of yours than Apple has done with any of theirs even with their incredible archive and resources, and I don't care who h...

Re: The Beatles MILLENNIUM REMASTERS Collections (NEW TITLES ADDED Dec. 15th)

For the record, I have no doubt that the stereo portion of the MR ACOBO disc is vinyl sourced. First of all, it sounds like vinyl, and not great vinyl at that. Secondly I did a test on Bad Boy, I Feel Fine, and I Want To Hold Your Hand. No sync whatsoever.

Re: The Beatles MILLENNIUM REMASTERS Collections (NEW TITLES ADDED Dec. 14th)

EDIT: I'm 99.9% sure that MMT in mono is entirely from the CD EP. Collection of Oldies is a mix of sources: CD EPs, CD Singles and Bad Boy is a fold-down of the stereo from Past Masters 1. In my comparison I used the Canadian Disque Americ pressing of Past Masters but I'm positive it's identical to...
