the backmasked censored radio edit of B.O.J.&Y. analogically recreated

I once read in an archive of old Billboard magazines from 1969 that, when The Ballad of John and Yoko was released and the line "Christ, you know it ain't easy" caused such a furor in more conservative radio markets, certain (mainly AM) stations had taken it upon themselves to creatively e...

Re: Ballad of John & Yoko censored version

How 'bout the Ohio station 1969 radio-edited version where an engineer made a tape dub of the single AND REVERSED the line (with an inverted tape splice) "Christ, you know it ain't easy" each time John sings it(?).

Re: "Hey Jude"´s "pega o cavaquinho" - (big) help wanted

Get a normal resolution audio file and slow the pitch of that spot down by .7%: it sounds (then) like Paul is using the same phrase he throws in during the end coda of Back In the U.S.S.R. (recorded three weeks after "Jude") --- "Hey, look I'm back".

Re: REQ: When I'm Sixty-Four backing track only

Just turn the balance control all the way to the right of the original mix and copy it that way. The only vocal bit you'll get is the John and George "ahhhs" and "We shall scrimp and save" parts during the choruses. here it is from my source (24/192; 90MB) change "xx" t...

Re: The U.S. Reel Collection (The Millennium Remasters) (2004)

SOMETHING NEW never existed as a 7 1/2ips reissued Ampex reel on its own. So, that's false advertising to begin with. It only came out as a 3 3/4-speed "two-fer" with BEATLES VI in 1965 in the Capitol brown box collection as catalog number "Y2T-2382".

*upgrade to 32/96*: AHDN UA MONO TAPE

Trying to retransfer the whole recording at 24/192 (vs. just the two tracks I'd posted last week), for some reason?, seemed to compress the mono signal into being too "wet" and "liquid-sounding"; like the dynamics became too stretched out. So, I downsampled it to 32/96 and -voila...

Re: The Beatles - Sgt Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band - MFSL High Fidelity Cassette MFSL C-100 - Dr. Robert

Reel to reel (7 1/2ips and faster) was/is NOT in the same category as cassette or 8-track cartridge. It's the only LOSSLESS ANALOG format ever invented which went from studio to consumer use (on a mainstream level between approximately 1955-1975). If it's a transfer intended of a pristinely-archived...
