Re: Let It Be Film - end of an era

The new myth, which we see being spun and repeated in lots of the writing about this release, is that "Let It Be got only a limited theatrical release in 1970, after which it remained unavailable to see for decades." The fact is, Let It Be ran in theaters and drive-ins across America for ...

Re: Let It Be Film - end of an era

You gotta wonder why it suddenly disappeared from the world in the mid 80s. I mean, was it that bad that Apple had to "cancel" it? It all just seems so stupid, keeping a movie hidden for 40 years. I mean, Help, that vanished for a while but it was less than ten years. 40 years is a total ...

Re: 21 Century Gold Disc?

...Yes, 21st Century (seems correct) was a company that prepared stuff on CD for radio stations INCLUDING early Beatles in stereo. I Actually, it was Century 21. Century 21 Productions and TM Productions were both companies that provided jingles, production libraries, syndicated programing, etc., t...

Re: Red Rose Speedway, London Town, and McCartney Super Deluxes

Nice work! For some reason, I am finding the artwork to be not downloadable. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Re: Beatles Original Anthology TV Broadcasts

The running times for the original broadcast in the US on ABC-TV minus the commercials but with the billboards ("brought to you by Ford", etc.) are: Episode 1 including the Free As A Bird tag - about 93 minutes Episode 2 including the Real Love tag - about 93 minutes Episode 3 - about 93 m...

Re: What's New in 2023 (FAB)

Thanks for the link. That's about as much info as I have seen about this label, with editorial opinion included, but again the listings are all video titles, not audio.

Re: What's New in 2023 (FAB)

What do we know about Fab! Productions? Who are they? They are clearly most recognized for their videos, first VHS, then DVD and now some BluRay. Judging by the scans that have been shared in various batches over the years, they have also released hundreds of Beatles and Solo CDs dating back to at l...

Re: The Beatles Anthology (1996 Pioneer Laserdisc Box Set) New DVD Transfers

Thanks for this! One question: It seems to imply there are 8 DVDs when there were actually 10 ... What are the last 2 DVDs about? Or have the 8 DVDs been recalculated to 10? Again, thanks for this! Not sure what you mean by "implied". This is a dub of the laserdisc box set, which containe...

Re: Stereo separation differences on various releases?

Narrowing the image means mixing a bit of the left channel into the right, and the right into the left? So these are actually remixes? I believe, at least for vinyl, this most often happened in the mastering stage by the cutting engineer, so not a change of the mixes in the studio. That's why they ...
