Re: A Big Request...

from A/B Road's notes: This set has long been the subject of debate… is it lossy or not? Basically the two arguments go like this: 1) Uncompressed: These thousands of 16 minute reels were recorded on a set of Nagra recorders for possible film use. The tape and recorders used likely didn't reproduce...

Re: 8-tracks

I guess you didn't read this line: "My guess is 8-tracks only attract interest when the program material is not available in a better quality format."

Who's missing the point?, Oh, right, it's not me. :D

Re: Philadelphia 1964 Pre-FM Soundboard (CDR, no label)

In the interest of historical accuracy...

WIBG, known as "Wibbage" was an AM station in Philadelphia in 1964 at 990. Wibbage's FM signal didn't exist until 2009. In this case, "Pre-FM" would be about 45 years "Pre". Great sound, though!

For example, this is from alt.binaries.beatles: 98045ed0dce14ffab4cc3d57c607e982 (17/41) "98045ed0dce14ffab4cc3d57c607e982.part16.rar" yEnc I wouldn't touch that file with a bargepole. It won't be Beatles. (I notice it has 'fab4' among the jumble of letters which is probably a lucky coinc...

Can you continue on that? I'm trying to remember the source, but I'm pretty sure the consensus has been the masterings are the same. I have both, but inquiring minds want to know.
