Given that they used 2 mics on stage, with George pivoting from one to the other, so they could never hear the full three part harmonies up there, it's a marvel they managed to sound even remotely decent. I don't know if you have heard the Stones' Honolulu 1966 show. It's one of the best recorded l...

Don't forget that a lot of stuff had also burned out in Universal fire around 2008. The damage was horrifying. Masters, sessions tapes, documents for many artists.

Re: The Stones And Brian Jones
I don’t know if they were that inventive in the sixties, they seemed to spend the period up to 1968 apeing the Beatles with increasingly diminishing artistic returns. Mick Taylor changed the band a lot, they wouldn’t have progressed as much without him. Ronnie is probably the best second fiddle for...

Re: The Stones And Brian Jones
It’s a good documentary, already bootlegged by FAB. Jones was an interesting character, really driven as far as the blues goes. You can see how his look inspired a whole host of sixties bands, particularly in the USA - just look at the Byrds when they first started out. Lennon claimed to have pulle...

Re: Complete Recording Sessions NEW UPDATES (Vol. 13 V2 available)
So what are the current plan for Let It Be set? Everything from nagras and multis (which will make it monstrosity and months to make) or just multis and vintage mixes (preferably) ? I'm actually more eager to hear Abbey Road as it's been years since someone made best sources for that. Regarding the...

No, it wasn't and checked with Nico Nzengraf - it's not even in his datebase https://www.nzentgraf.de/ All Along The Watchtower have Brian. Olympic engineer remembers that session when Hendrix was desperate to finish song quickly and Brian just arrived drunk and they didn't know how to get rid of him.
