Re: New book about 69/70

"Thank you. As you all know, you just can't believe everything you see and hear, can you. Now, if you will excuse me, I must be on my way." (Jimi Hendrix) An error like this does not mean a bad book unfortunately, I'd say. A journalist from Shindig! took an interview with Bruce Botnick, th...

Re: What is it that keeps your interest in The Beatles alive?

I wouldn't want to upset a Creedence fan! Thgose cowboy boots hurt! The thing that's frustrating to me with so many bands is the poverty of ideas. They just don't have them. The Beatles did an amazing job of allowing bands to write their own material, but the simple fact of it is that most pe...

Re: What is it that keeps your interest in The Beatles alive?

Obviously a Creedence fan would be able to say the same about The Beatles  and then there are albums which not always represent "songs" yet are great. For example, "What's the New Mary Jane" is just not up to anywhere near the level of the mighty "The Parable of Arable ...

Re: What is it that keeps your interest in The Beatles alive?

I like two things the most: quality and progress. Be it audio, video, or books. Like, we were "there" back in whatever year, and we came to "here". The overall knowledge of the subject was on that level, and now it is at this level. I can relate to the waning interest at some poi...

And right now, a Beatles demo from 1967 is at Dimeadozen. Just 11 seeders so far

Re: The Mamas & The Papas mono albums

I've Googled it up and at least the first album tape exists in mono. There are mono CDs by Sundazed but that company has dubious reputation regarding such things.

Re: Book - British invasion recomendation wanted ....

There are quite a few. From the newer ones, I'd suggest books by Manfred Kuhlmann on Merseybeat - look for the latest versions. (I also remember a fantastic book with the title like "Rocklopedia", but somehow I am not able to find this title on my list of books. But I do have it. Will look...
