Re: Birth Of The Beatles 2024 Definitive Edition

And talking pf Pete Best, as a footnote to the Birth of the Beatles movie, here's a TV interview from a few years later where he comments on the depiction of his sacking. The interview doesn't credit his input on the film, and is basically a promo spot for his new book, but might be of interest: htt...

Re: Birth Of The Beatles 2024 Definitive Edition

I remember the Murray Mints slogan from various ads, but don't recall seeing that Beatles one before. Nice find!

File alongside Pete Best's Carlsberg ad...

Re: Ready Steady Go! Rehearsal Footage JUST Released!

Amazing stuff! And so much of it. Thanks for the alert.

Seeing events only familiar for years as B/W now in glorious technicolour is always a thrill. Is this legit colour film, or some AI magic?

Re: The Complete Beatles 1

Tracklisting is posted here - nothing to get excited about at all - Hamburg, Decca session, 1962 stuff . This series is seems to be aimed at new fans of the Beatles and/or Beatlegs

Re: What is it that keeps your interest in The Beatles alive?

I also am still 'in the game' for the lure of unreleased stuff, ideally studio outtakes. I think Pete Townshend once described how being into rock and roll is like a drug in that you hear some astonishing, exciting piece of music, fall in love with it and it becomes familiar.. but you keep on wantin...

Re: John Lennon's Jukebox

Curious: Is this a legit release? I see it on Ebay for around $50. Can someone post it here if it is not against the rules? Yes, it was a legit release, I think it was released about the same time as a TV documentary about his portable jukebox he used on tour(!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgAB...

Re: HAPPY EASTER

I am the Egg Man.

The Easter egg man, that is, after giving up chocolate for Lent. Yum yum.

(I'm not particularly religious, but like seeing if I can impose a bit of self discipline for a few weeks, with a reward at the end of it!)

Re: Yellow Matter Custard (stereo)

Nice work, LR, and nice graphics, too.
I've seen the note from John before, and can't help thinking he'd have loved the Beatleg collecting world of today.

Re: Harry And His Court Jesters: The Music Video

Well, the video all looks fine to me. As good as it gets, in (or 'to') my eyes. I just relish the fact that we can experience the video content of filmed gigs like this at all - it's great to see how this performance was first openly circulated as audio only, c/o the Joe Pope EP, and no doubt enjoye...
