Re: Parlogram "The Forgotten Beatles EP Box Set & Why You Should Own It"
Then why do EP reels for both exist in the vaults? TL12344 for No. 1 and TL14452 for Extracts from the AHDN Album. I don't think they are tape reels. Tapes usually begin with the "E" prefix. "TL" is something else, and as they all seem to correspond with released records I'm ass...
Odd, the video claims no noise reduction was used. Is he mistaken?
I'm quite certain it does. It has the same mastering characteristics as the Red & Blue albums from the same time (Andrew even mentions that She Loves You is the same on both). Compare Baby You're A Rich Man to t...

Re: Delta Mono Can they Re-Created it ?
That was at thread I started at SH forums. I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Recording The Beatles suggests that delta mono ended after the From Me To You single. As Lewisohn noted in Recording Sessions, the stereo FMTY was never 'mixed' as such - the delta mono tapes were edited together (from...

Re: Lennon & McCartney - 1980 Single
Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. I've always thought the two songs combined in Facing Up shared more than a few similarities. Key and tempo were also similar. But I didn't think I could get them to fuse together so well. After some initial attempts not really getting anywhere, I hit upon a...

For another comparison, if desired, it's also one of the tracks on the McCartney "Ultimate Archive Collection" on the "Give Us That Knowing Wink" volume (Disc 1, Track 15). If you don't already have it, you can find it on the first link listed here: https://forum.beatlegdb.com/v...

Re: Request: McCartney - No Values, version with full outro jam
That film mix (not just that song) has always sounded weird. It sounds like an old surround mix that's been downmixed to stereo if that makes sense. That makes perfect sense, as that it what it sounds like to me. I ripped that version but I'm pretty sure I edited the long ending onto the released v...
