Re: Let It Be Film - end of an era

Hopefully we'll all watch It, like it, make a notch in our bedpost and stop thinking of January 1969 for a while

Re: Requesting EMI Deltas

I think I remember that Andrew from Polygram, said in one of his videos that the versions of Please Please Me and Ask Me Why that are on the original UK 45 were from the Delta tape. They were better in his opinion, especially Ask Me Why which is drier and has less reverb. I tried to find the video ...

Re: Beatles - Ready Steady Go / Around the Beatles 8mm (COMPLETE)

I'm guessing then they must have ran through the whole thing at least twice with the audience - once as a practice (the colour footage) and then again for the actual TV programme, after John had smartened up. What do you lot reckon? Or that is also a possibility. In any case it seems that both the ...

Re: Beatles - Ready Steady Go / Around the Beatles 8mm (COMPLETE)

These are brill BUT wouldn't it have been better to have had the sound of the raw studio tracks with no audience for the 'Around The Beatles' rehearsal seeing as, during the clips, there isn't any audience? The raw tapes have been on bootleg since the mid 80s. Interestingly, if you listen to the &q...

Re: The most exhaustive chronology possible of The Beatles and post-Beatles

Thank you, that's really nice :) And for the trouble, here is my library :) I admit to being quite a fanatic and to classify chronologically, hence my desire for this file, and thus to know what I could be missing.... JPGR are no exception, they are also in order, each in their own reserved corner ...

Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!

As it stands I only ever watched Get Back once and I can't imagine myself watching LIB more than once either Yeah, at this point I think that the overdocumentation of January 1969 has become a rabbit hole. Sometimes I imagine how cool it would be if there was something like Get Back but about, say,...

Re: MLH's 'Let It Be' is coming!

I think the other problem is that they began with only a few fragments of songs and somehow expected that they would write an album's worth of good songs during the process. But you're not likely to come up with good songs when you're spending all day sitting in a cold film set. They needed to be o...

Re: [REQ] Carl Perkins Blue Suede Shoes: A Rockabilly Session Video

That was one of my favourite shows as a teen in the 80s. For me it was "Come for George and Ringo, stay for the awesome rockabilly music".
