Re: Why didn't John play on George's later songs?
I think he might have been more comfortable with Paul's songs. He had an innate understanding of where Paul was going from all their writing sessions as youngsters that he did not have with George, who preferred writing on his own. Actually, I think the only George songs where John had a notable ins...

Re: Terry Heneberry RIP
The Pop Go The Beatles shows he recorded sound incredible. He was recording them as if he was recording a jazz band - capturing clearly what was sounding in the studio. Unfortunately it was 1963 when all the pop musicians were still contaminated by the malodorous stench of Phil Spector - witness the...

Re: John shredding his vocal chords

People say it's Jeff making different decisions than Neil but I think it's one of the four core parties who made the change.

Re: Let It Be Film - end of an era
There's a review today, in Variety I think, that says the exact same thing: that seen today It feels more joyful and less gloomy. I don't know, but maybe originally It was seen as gloomier even than It was because people were on a collective downer because the Beatles had broken up.

Re: Requesting EMI Deltas
IIRC in the stereo TYG the last harmonica riff (not counting the onr in the coda) enters a bit earlier than in the mono, creating a bit of a syncopation.

Re: Requesting EMI Deltas
It's a bit more complicated than that. Paul messed up on both vocal tracks - on one his voice cracked on ' 'vain', on the other he came in too early with 'was in...' The mono mix fixed that by using only the vocal track with the better 'was in...' before switching to the other vocal track for 'vain...
