Re: Question regarding barcode of the "LOVE" CD

Look at the SID codes, if they match other releases then they used the same digital masters.

Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!

Apple lost the negative to MMT so what they released in 2012 was a print and thus had faded colors. Of course, but faded prints aren't an irregular occurrence for restored movies and they seldom look like how MMT looks. It seems they went with a less than optimal restoration company, same for Penny...

Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!

First-most I expect it to be just like the previous restorations and the promos on 1+, so a straight transfer with minimal corrections except for the regular dirt and scratches fixed. Then secondly we might expect a widescreen version, like R&R Circus as was mentioned, but as that requires a rep...

Re: Bad To Me - Beatles 1963 Demo in Stereo

Thanks. What is your source for the 31 May 1963 dating? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_to_Me Wikipedia isn't a source by itself. That specific passage was added by a user called 'KingDavid8' in 2008 without citing any source nor reference. He might as well have picked it straight out of thin air.

Try a more resilient file manager like Total Commander. And reboot the system if you haven’t already tried so.

Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!

I think the answer is that because they had used film (even if it wasn't 35mm) instead of video tape they had the option to change their minds and apparently they did and their artistic choice wasn't to release it in 4:3 ratio. They shot on 16mm because there wasn’t much budget, don’t forget they s...

Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!

I wonder how many don't realise that often things are filmed in a 4:3 aspect ratio with the deliberate intention for the final production to be cropped for the final release? How is this relevant if we’re talking a tv-special that was only later made into a film because they didn’t know what else t...

Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!

It’ll definitely be cropped…they just can’t control themselves with that…it has to fill your TV screen…same goes for anything b&w…all has to be colorized…I’m hopeful judging by MLH asking for it to retain its “film” look through… Lots of opinions and projections stated as fact here... I underst...

Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!

Hopefully there'll be brighter images and clearer sound, because the original movie is dingy and inaudible most of the time. But it'll be cropped, which sort of ruins it, because it'll mean there's still no (and now never will be) a full frame 4:3 official release aside from the German vhs. It woul...
