Lamont Dozier

I felt it should be noted here that this week, Lamont Dozier sadly passed away. One third of the classic Holland-Dozier-Holland team, his list of hits is long, practically defining the Motown sound in the 1960s and giving even Lennon-McCartney a run for their money. Sad news, brilliant legacy. Rest ...

No doubt they commissioned this article some time ago, but it ties in nicely with Mark Lewisohn's upcoming shows in London.

Re: Did Paul Initially Approve Of The Long And Winding Road?

I don't think he had too much of an issue with it - I think he was more angry that it had been done without his consent. The actual arrangement was a solution to a problem - namely, that the bass guitar was so bad throughout and had to be covered up. For me there is one piece of evidence which is se...

Re: New Blue Soap - The MONO Edition [2022] - January 3rd Update

Yeah the DDSI numbers have been periodically updated by Doug Sulpy as more audio/information has come to light. Different editions of his book therefore have differences in the numbers. Can't see an easy way around that, to be honest - always ref the most recent set. I know when last year's Get Back...

Stephen Freidland is the man behind the identity, Brute Force. I suspect these are re-recordings as Apple had the original locked up for decades. By the looks of the labels, they aren't recent either.

Re: Official Album SURVIVOR (Round 3)

RIP Let It Be. Great album for me - I cannot understand why people don't like it. Almost every track is a great.

But it's gone, and I'm over it.

Re: Mark Lewisohn Toronto 2016

Thanks so much for this. Fascinating. Never knew, for example, Maureen Cleave interviewed all of them and Brian Epstein, and the interviews were published in five consecutive weeks!

Can't get enough of Mark Lewisohn. Thanks for uploading.

ML emphasised Stu havinghis back to the audience, so I would assume it's the top one.
