No you didn't, I posted it on page 1, ha! ;-)

But I agree, very informative.

Vee-Jay, web people say (among other interesting things): "With APE or FLAC, you have a lossless product but it reflects exactly the quality of the source CD, SACD or record." hxxps://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=119914.0 If you post WAV I say "FLAC you!" If you post ...

Which Spectrogram do you recommend? Audacity?

Please spot check some of these hi-res LPs and digital HDs and tell me what you think.

Re: The 2012 Vinyl Re-Issues Were From 44.1khz Source

I've been spending the day reviewing the many 24/96 vinyl and reel-to-reel rips in my collection. If Spec is at all accurate, there is a LOT of hot air included in these. Many don't even make it to 48KHz much less 44, or sometimes even over 15 or 20 (in the case of the tapes)! Various artists' HD of...

Doing some tests with Spec, as if I understand the results, other than the extra sound info does not seem to be useful... Re: The 2012 Vinyl Re-Issues Were From 44.1khz Source

OK, so for downsampling LP rips, LR recommends 48khz (on the back half, due to the clean math/division). What about the front half (16 or 24?). FWIW, DESS was distributing all of his vinyl rips on CD (16/44), so... Regardless of bits 'n sh-tz, I understand one main attraction of a vinyl rip is to ha...

Re: The 2012 Vinyl Re-Issues Were From 44.1khz Source

This is very interesting! LR, can you (or anybody else who knows how to read a spectrogram) tell me if downsampling the 2012 vinyl rips in our collections to 24/44 is harmful to the audio in any way? If not it would save a ton of HDD space over the seemingly unnecessary 24/96. Also, does this new in...

Re: Some Old Interviews V4.0 (Bootlegzone Version)

You know I will never ever ever listen to most of these but I just have to have them! ;-) I see Jan Cees ter Brugge listed on a couple of shows; I used to tape-trade with him back in the '90s. He had contacts! PS: Now we just need to replace those, how shalll we say, less effective Mega links with G...

Re: THE LOST '65 SINGLE

Great job as always, and I always love a well-done remaster/remix!

The only thing that stands out from the original source is the flutter. I think there's some script to deal with that?

Thanks again for keeping the hits coming.

Re: Strawberry Fields Forever (Vee-Jay Remix)

Thanks VJ! Nice work. The pitch adjustment of the first part is a BIG improvement over the original and makes the splice less painful, although it's still a bit of a bump. How about trying more of a crossfade at the splice? ie, begin the cello part early if possible as a fade-in. OR on the R channel...
