Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!

I got to see what I believe is an authentic print of the original film about fifteen years ago. The gentleman who owns the print has the authorization to show the film in his private theatre in Studio City once a year. No ticket sales. Invite only. It was an awesome experience. There were about twen...

Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!

So it's official. Disney +. My prediction: Pain!!! (Oh, wait! Wrong movie!) The BluRay release, then....probably no extras. However, a Christmas shebang release including the Get Back miniseries and Let It Be along with commentary tracks, the complete rooftop concert, extra footage, a do-it-yourself...

Re: MLH's 'Let It Be' is coming!

It's about time,....way beyond about time for a legit LIB release. I'll certainly snap it up if it comes out. But I probably won't watch it too much, if at all. IMO, it is one of the biggest downers of a film ever released. I will always refer to that era in Beatle history the way George did,...The ...

Re: What is it that keeps your interest in The Beatles alive?

I was first turned on to the Beatles in the mid-60's by my parents. They were playing the Help! album (US version.) The song,"Help!" struck one heck of a chord in this 3yr-old. The path towards my complete involvement in everything Beatles took a few more years to be fully realized. My fir...

Re: HAPPY EASTER

Nothing to do with Easter,...my wife is from Thailand. But she's been here in the US since the mid-1980's. We celebrate Chinese New Year every year. It's a tradition she brought into my life. We gather with friends and family, collect and display photos of family members since departed, light candle...

Re: The Beatles Unreleased & Miscellaneous Project

Thanks for the MOGG overload. MOGG's were incredibly helpful back in the day when my band were learning "our parts", vocal and instrumental. They helped put us over the edge and improved the quality of our performance. These days, it's fun to sit back in the music room, spark up Audacity, ...

Re: Harry And His Court Jesters

The comparison track tells the tale. Pass-able yet still crusty AM vs high fidelity. I'll take it however I can get it, though. Until the Hi-Fi versions of a lot of this stuff circulated, crusty was just fine. What'd be nice is if the early Pink Floyd broadcasts which include many of the Piper track...

Re: Harry And His Box Set (V1, 2, 7, 10, 12, 15, 14 update.)

Further to our discussion further back about whether the pre-Ringo Beatles were any good, here's an interesting comment from Sheridan: That kind of mirrors the way I think of it. If you were there then, yes, it would be great but on tape... probably not so great. As you've put it, we already know w...

OK, my interest is slightly piqued.

Does anyone know what the running order would be of the songs in From Us To You #3 if we were to slot the updated songs (Manfred Mann, etc.) into their proper places? I'm having difficulty finding the running order online.

And it's not like The Big Bopper was a one trick Pony songwriter: he wrote White Lightning for George Jones. the big bopper also wrote one of the best christmas songs, i want a rock-n-roll guitar, recorded by johnny preston. running bear, another big hit for johnny preston, was written by the big b...
