Re: The Beatles Unreleased & Miscellaneous Project

Thanks for the MOGG overload. MOGG's were incredibly helpful back in the day when my band were learning "our parts", vocal and instrumental. They helped put us over the edge and improved the quality of our performance. These days, it's fun to sit back in the music room, spark up Audacity, ...

Re: Harry And His Court Jesters

The comparison track tells the tale. Pass-able yet still crusty AM vs high fidelity. I'll take it however I can get it, though. Until the Hi-Fi versions of a lot of this stuff circulated, crusty was just fine. What'd be nice is if the early Pink Floyd broadcasts which include many of the Piper track...

Further to our discussion further back about whether the pre-Ringo Beatles were any good, here's an interesting comment from Sheridan: That kind of mirrors the way I think of it. If you were there then, yes, it would be great but on tape... probably not so great. As you've put it, we already know w...

OK, my interest is slightly piqued.

Does anyone know what the running order would be of the songs in From Us To You #3 if we were to slot the updated songs (Manfred Mann, etc.) into their proper places? I'm having difficulty finding the running order online.

And it's not like The Big Bopper was a one trick Pony songwriter: he wrote White Lightning for George Jones. the big bopper also wrote one of the best christmas songs, i want a rock-n-roll guitar, recorded by johnny preston. running bear, another big hit for johnny preston, was written by the big b...

Re: Harry And His Box Set (V1, 2, 7, 10, 12, 15, 14 update.)

What I find is a gas from time to time is to listen to some of those albums that came out in the 50's from one- and two-hit wonder bands like The Monotones, Danny & The Juniors, The Big Bopper, The Silhouettes, etc. Several songs on their album have the sound and feel of the one hit song. But no...

Re: Harry And His Box Set (V1, 2, 7, 10, 12, 15, 14 update.)

Just to clarify though for those of us coming to this late: "Note that any patches contained in later volumes have not been applied and need to be done by you. The exception is V24 where you do not have to do anything." What does this refer to? Are there patches for earlier volumes contai...

Re: Four New Films!

Consider if, instead of Peter Jackson, or whomever has been tapped, the project goes through the Apple Corp grand homogenizer. Instead of four films we get one. Directed by Quentin Tarantino. Linear time is blown to smithereens, with bits and pieces from their career sown together in seemingly rando...
